English Spelling and Grammar Course

General Information

Click on each item to learn more about how our course works. A detailed breakdown is available below for each module.

The alphabet is presented using TWO colours: Red – vowels and Blue – consonants.  Vowels are explained first and it is important to make the child aware of the TWO different groups.

When the child has mastered Vowels and Consonants knowing the colours presenting these groups, the alphabet order follows by learning the alphabet song.  The song helps the child understand the order and recognition of letters.  Writing the letters comes only later.  It has been discovered that children struggle with 2nd and 3rd letter sounds because of the lack in understanding the alphabet and the order of letters.  This is a basic rule which may not be disregarded or skipped because it influences a child’s reading and spelling when they grow and progress.

Word formation follows only when recognition and order of alphabet letters are fully grasped and understood.

The Language Programme is introduced after the alphabet.  Take note that the alphabet is the foundation of any language.

The Language Programme is presented according to themes based on CAPS Guidelines.

Themes are explained in detail and not according to grade levels.  We have found that the basic knowledge of language is ever-changing but generally,   children have not understood the basic foundation and then extra information is just added on when the first layer of language lacks.  This confuses the child and creates gaps in learning which only escalates as the child progresses.  We focus on the basic steps and with constant repetition the child will master the basics to understand all additions of language structures.

This programme is presented in a simplified way which makes learning easy.  The programme has been compiled on the necessary scientific research.

The video matching the specific lesson is provided accordingly. It is important to first watch the video before starting a lesson. All the information presented in the video explains the lesson and makes it easier when repetition follows while using the Super X Board. When you see the video icon, watch the video which explains the topic in detail. Remember we need to maintain the golden thread of learning.

All Toolkits are numbered and follow the order accordingly. When you see the Toolkit icon, follow the instructions which makes lessons fun and easier to understand.
